LOUGHBOROUGH — Edoardo Del Cadia had a season-high 33 points to go with 17 rebounds, as Myerscough raced past Loughborough II 87-50 on Saturday.

Konrad Kantorski added 28 points for Myerscough (9-1, 6-1 NBL3), which hit 12 3-pointers and outscored the Student Riders 33-13 in the fourth quarter.

Sam Waterman led Loughborough (5-3) with 13 points in the loss — the Student Riders’ first defeat at the Netball Badminton Centre in league play this season.

“The guys put themselves in a position where they could have some fun in the fourth quarter and credit to them because they’re here to enjoy it, that’s what basketball is about, and that was nice to see,” said Myerscough coach Neal Hopkins.

Myerscough blew open its 3-point halftime lead with a 13-5 run over an eight minute stretch to start the third quarter.

Del Cadia converted an easy layup off the feed from David Walsh on the opening possession of the half before the forward added a 3-pointer on the next trip down. Landry Mayinga then finished a driving layup to make it 42-34.

Kantorski would extend the lead into double-digits for the first time with 2:16 remaining in the third after turning a steal into a wide-open layup.

Myerscough completed its second half assault on Loughborough hitting seven fourth-quarter 3-pointers — four of which came in-a-row.

Walsh capped off the impressive shooting display with a deep 3-pointer, which brought the bench to its feet for a final time, to push the lead to 37.
