Myerscough Basketball Academy’s Shauna Harrison and Milly Knowles have done their part to help Great Britain get off to a perfect start at the FIBA U18 Women’s European Championships.

The Under-18s are 3-0 through their opening games ahead of the rest day on Monday. Great Britain will face hosts Ireland tomorrow before wrapping up Group D play against Slovakia on Wednesday.

After being held out of the opener versus Ukraine, Harrison has scored in double-figures in each of the last two games including a team-high 18 points in the win over Macedonia. The 17-year-old is currently ranked eighth in scoring at the tournament at 14.5 points per game on 44 percent (11-of-25) shooting, including 6-of-15 (40 percent) from 3-point range.

Knowles, meanwhile, has started all three contests thus far and contributed 8.7 points on 44 percent (11-of-25) shooting in just over 18 minutes per game. She had 12 points and five rebounds in the 81-46 win over Macedonia.

Great Britain — led by head coach Vanessa Ells — has made a dominant start to the tournament, but faces a stern test in Ireland, which is also undefeated in pool play following convincing wins.
