Myerscough trio named to All-EABL Conference Teams

PRESTON, Lancs. — Myerscough won its fourth conference title in programme history, claiming the EABL West Conference with an 11-1 record. Myerscough placed three on postseason EABL Conference Teams, including one on the All-EABL West Team, the league announced on Wednesday.

Edoardo Del Cadia was named to the All-EABL West First Team whilst Konrad Kantorski and Mate Okros made the Second Team. This marks the fourth consecutive year that Myerscough has placed at least one player on the All-EABL Conference First Team.

Del Cadia earned All-EABL Conference First Team honours for the first time in his Myerscough career. The forward posted six double-doubles and set season-highs of 26 points (vs. SGS College) and 21 rebounds (vs. Charnwood College), and earned Player of the Week for his performance against Charnwood on Nov. 29. Del Cadia averaged 15.8 points on 45.6 percent shooting to go with 11 rebounds per game.

It was the second straight year that Kantorski was named to the All-EABL Conference Second Team. The guard led Myerscough in scoring in five games this season, which ranked first on the team, and posted 18.3 points per game on 42.3 percent shooting. Kantorski led the team in made 3-pointers, which he shot at a rate of 44.7 percent. He had a season-high 32 points in the conference title clinching win at Charnwood, and had five 20-point games.

Okros, in his first year at Myerscough, has joined Kantorski on the All-EABL Conference Second Team following a campaign in which he scored 14.7 points per game and finished in double-figures in 10 of 11 appearances. He was the team’s top scorer twice and set season highs of 29 points (at Charnwood), 11 rebounds (vs. Derby College) four assists (at James Watt, vs. James Watt) and four steals (at Loreto).

The No. 1 seeded Myerscough College faces Barking Abbey in the EABL Championship on Mar. 22. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. at Leicester Arena.
