MANCHESTER — Myerscough swept aside the Manchester Magic Under-16s to finish seventh at the 2017 Haris Tournament at the Amaechi Centre on Friday after falling to Vaerlose earlier in the day.
Harrison Bell scored 20 points to lead Myerscough in a 102-64 rout of the younger Magic. Lewis McGlasson had 18 whilst Tyrell Brown and Jamie Gray added 16 each.
“I think our guys will take a lot away from their [Haris Tournament] experience,” said Myerscough head coach Neal Hopkins. “There were some lapses that hurt us, but some new faces stepped up and made very positive contributions.”
Myerscough, which had lost 68-60 to its Danish counterparts in the morning on Friday, completed the tournament with a 3-2 record overall after going 2-1 in pool play.
“Harrison [Bell] is someone who came of age and it was great to see strong individual performances from Demi [Adenuga], Daniel [Chima] and Tyrell [Brown],” said Hopkins. “The next step is to roll those over into our domestic season.”
Charnwood College, meanwhile, finished first overall following its win over the England Under-18s, with CB Nova School coming third.
