Shema’s 22 points carry Sco by Sheffield

PRESTON, England – Ridley Shema had a season-high and game-high 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting and Myerscough powered past Sheffield College 119-60 to close out the EABL Summer Showcase on Wednesday.

Myerscough had seven players finish in double-figures scoring, led by Shema, who hit four 3-pointers in the win. HoopsFix All-Star Classic MVP Great Osobor added 17 points, David Chive and Franklin Agu each had 14, Zeki Cavli chipped in 13 Titus Warari scored 11.

Sheffield shocked Myerscough with an 8-2 run to force the hosts into a timeout at the 8:14 mark. But a 17-5 burst flipped the script and pushed Sco ahead 19-14. 

Shema knocked down a 3-pointer to give Myerscough a 28-18 lead with 48 seconds to play in the opening quarter. Sco built a 31-point advantage at the break and ran away with the game after halftime.

Myerscough shot 49 percent and held Sheffield to just 36.4 percent. Sco scored 31 second-chance points and turned 38 Sheffield turnovers into 53 points and outscored their opponent 70-36 in the paint.

Hensy Sako scored 20 points to lead Sheffield College in the loss. Declan Kom added 10.
