Preston, England – Myerscough’s NBL Division 2 Men’s team returned to winning ways this past weekend as they comfortably defeated newly promoted Bristol Basketball United, 95-66.
Denilson Caschili contributed just under half of Myerscough’s points in the opening quarter as the academy-based team seemed to brush aside the offensive struggles they displayed in last weekend’s narrow 1-point Men’s National Cup victory.
An 8-0 run to start the second quarter would follow that built Myerscough’s first double-digit lead of the game and further impressive defense would limit the visitors to just 9 points as the lead grew to 45-25 at halftime.
Myerscough continued to apply pressure after the break and multiple scores in transition and second efforts in the rebounding battle generated their largest lead of the game at 73-33, with just under 4-minutes left in the quarter.
Bristol continued to battle until the final whistle and were rewarded by narrowly taking the last quarter 22-20 but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome of the game that sees Myerscough improve to 2-1 in Division 2 North whereas Bristol Basketball United slide to 0-2.
Denilson Caschili continued his recent form and hit double figures again with game-high 25 points (10-15 FG) whilst Euan Birch had 16 points. Stephen Asante flirted with a triple-double with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists.
Bristol were led by Mo Adepoju’s 19 points and Alex Milham’s 16 point and 10 rebound double-double.
