NEWCASTLE – Dan Gargan scored a game-high 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting and Myerscough beat Newcastle 90-50 on Wednesday to start the EABL season.

Joe Heyes hit 6-of-10 attempts and added 14 points for Myerscough (1-0), which shot 48 percent had 11 different scorers. Shaydon Eytle had 12 points to go with six rebounds, four assists and three steals and Louis Sullivan chipped in 11 points and four steals.

Myerscough opened on a 23-3 run, including 13 unanswered points to start the game, and Newcastle never threatened.

Joel Moore had 17 points and seven rebounds for the Eagles (0-2) in the loss. Sauver Kande added 13.
