PRESTON — Myerscough’s Shauna Harrison was named to the Great Britain Under-20 Women’s team ahead of the 2018 FIBA U20 European Championships beginning July 7th in Oradea, Romania.

“It means a lot to me to have the opportunity to represent Great Britain and I’m really proud to honour my country in this way — I hope to contribute in anyway I can,” said Harrison. “Myerscough helped me reach this potion by giving me new skills as well as developing them to improve my game.”

Harrison has made the jump from the Great Britain Under-18 squad that finished fourth at the 2017 U18 European Championships in Dublin where she ranked second on the team in scoring with 12 points per game on 40 percent shooting from the field. The guard ranked first on the Under-18s in rebounding at 5.7 per contest to go with 1.9 steals and 1.3 assists.

Great Britain, which is competing in Group A, tips off play at the European Championships against Israel on Saturday at 1 PM.
