Lights out performance downs Derbyshire  

Dronfield, England – Myerscough captured a crucial win this past weekend in emphatic fashion as they connected on 15 three-pointers to dispatch of Derbyshire Arrows (60-92) away from home to improve to 6-10 on the regular season.  

Peter Asante and Euan Birch combined for Myerscough’s first 10 points and Dayvantia Campbell-Deeble opened his scoring account inside the paint as the visitors jumped out to an early 12-3 across the opening five minutes. 

Myerscough’s lead grew to as many as 15 points in the first quarter and they never looked back as they dialled in one of their more comprehensive wins of the season.  

Derbyshire Arrows were forced into an early timeout in the fourth quarter as Daniel Azancot hit back-to-back three-pointers. When play resumed Myerscough continued their offensive barrage as they added a further 15 points without reply and opened their lead out to as many as 39 points (49-88) on their way to victory. 

Emmanuel Yeboah led Myerscough with an efficient performance claiming 22 points on 6-8 FG (3-5 3PT) and 7-8 FT. Euan Birch matched the offensive output with 22 points of his own as he connected on 6 three-pointers. Daniel Azancot and Dayvantia Campbell-Deeble both added 13 points whilst Peter Asante also broke into double figures with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. 

Sedale Hanson-Young led Derbyshire Arrows with 12 points whilst James Baugh was the only other player to reach double figures with 10.  

Myerscough outrebounded their opponents 47-36, were successful in converting off Derbyshire’s turnovers to the tune of 27 points and saw nearly half their points total come from their bench (39).  

Myerscough (6-10) return home this weekend to face a St. Helens Saints (11-2) side that they have yet to face this season. Derbyshire Arrows (9-8) host Bristol Academy Flyers (8-8) in a battle between 5th and 6th place.
