PRESTON, Lancs. — Jess McGrath helped Myerscough rebound from its defeat on Saturday to beat the winless City of Leeds 73-55.
McGrath hit five 3-pointers en route to a team-high 21 points on Sunday. Katie Simpson and Maria Delgado added 10 points each.
“We worked together as a team and made the right decisions during the game,” said McGrath. “We fed off each other’s positivity and we played our basketball.”
Myerscough (2-3) asserted its dominance on the defensive end in the second quarter and outscored Leeds (0-4) 24-9.
McGrath hit three 3-pointers in a row in the third quarter as part of a 12-2 run, which put Myerscough in control.
