PRESTON, Lancs. — Callan Low led five players in double figures scoring with a game-high 17 points to lift the Myerscough Under-18 Men’s team past Reading 74-63 on Saturday and into the Final Four.
Myerscough will face London Lewisham Thunder in the semifinals at the National Basketball Performance Centre on May 5. Birmingham and Manchester matchup in the second pairing.
Lewis McGlasson added 13 points, including a trio of 3-pointers, and Martell Elly and Jamie Gray each chipped in 11 apiece for Myerscough, whose largest deficit of the game was three points.
Myerscough shot nearly 48 percent — a vast improvement from the Round 2 game against QE York — and made the most of 17 forced turnovers from Reading, as it converted those into 21 points.
Elly sparked a 16-3 run with back-to-back 3-pointers that spanned four minutes and gave Myerscough a 23-13 lead after the first quarter. Reading, which trailed by double digits throughout the first half, would fight to within four points in the third quarter but never got closer.
Adrian Castillo scored 16 points and Asher Ndah added 14 to go with six rebounds for Reading, which shot 41 percent.
