Myerscough drop at home against Charnwood

Preston, England – Myerscough College dropped to 4-2 in the EABL Northern Conference as they dropped 75-65 to Charnwood College Riders.

Myerscough split the first half of their EABL match-up on Wednesday and saw themselves trailing by 4 points at the break, 38-42. Myerscough were quick out of the blocks and opened their biggest lead of the game at 15 points with scores in transition as well as starting to connect from deep. Riders would fight back in the second quarter as they mirrored what the hosts did in the first.

Both teams continued the back-and-forth throughout the third quarter as Charnwood fought to keep their lead whilst Myerscough tried to find a way back into the game. The gap remained in single figures heading into the last quarter, 59-64.

Myerscough’s offensive woes continued in a low-scoring fourth quarter and were unable to close the gap as time expired.

Stephen Asante had a game-high 20 points to lead Myerscough College whilst Denilson Caschili and Peter Asante both had 12 points. Dayvantia Campbell-Deeble added 8.

Lane Campbell top scored for Charnwood with 18 points. Onyia and Hadley both contributed 17 points whereas Diallo added 16 points of his own.

Myerscough travels to Birmingham to face BMET next week whereas Charnwood College return home to host SGS College.
