Mate Okros finished with 19 points and David Walsh added 17, and the pair accounted for five 3-pointers. Konrad Kantorski scored 10 of his 14 points before halftime.
Del Cadia sparked a 44-6 run over a 12-minute stretch, and spanned both halves, which gave Myerscough complete control. The forward scored the first five points of the run whilst Okros knocked down a trio of 3-pointers in the second quarter.
Tameside had droughts of two, three and seven minutes before managing to string together an 11-0 run but it was too little too late.
J. Cantwell hit four 3-pointers to lead Tameside with 12 points. G. Pearson also had 12 and P. Wright added 10 in the loss.
Myerscough Player Quotes
Mate Okros
On advancing in the National Shield:
“It gives us good confidence getting such a big win here, as a lot of the other guys some good minutes, and we can carry that into other games.”
Building on this performance:
“There’s a good buzz in the changing room after wins and we come into the next game all hype and it gives us confidence in our shooting and defence.”
On his big second quarter
“I was just a player today — I wasn’t stressing about anything. Once I hit one three, I had the confidence to go hit another, and my teammates had the confidence in me to get me the ball.”
