PRESTON, England — Myerscough Basketball was featured on That’s TV on Monday night, which covered how COVID-19 has impacted the basketball season.
Sophie Reaper from That’s TV Lancashire/Manchester visited the Preston-based campus to originally cover the Academy’s triumph as the first-ever British basketball team to win a season-long European competition, but the spread of coronavirus would become the major story line.
Basketball England announced on Friday that all of its competitions have been cancelled for the remainder of the season, including the Elite Academy Basketball League and English Schools Championships. Myerscough was due to compete in a pair of finals in Essex on Wednesday and Thursday.
The European Youth Basketball League Final Four, meanwhile, was schedule for May 2-3 in Tallinn, Estonia, but has since been cancelled as well.
