BRIXTON, London — Myerscough was well represented at the 2018 HoopsFix All-Star Classic, with four participants competing at the one-day showcase at Brixton Recreation Centre last Saturday.
Mate Okros finished with 11 points, seven rebounds and four steals and Callan Low added a diverse statline — five points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals — as Team Black defeated Myerscough teammate Jamie Gray and Team White 85-71 in inaugural Underclassmen All-Star Game.
“Playing in front of a sold out crowd is always special and it shows just how much basketball has developed and that’s credit to Sam [Neter] for putting on a great event,” said Okros, who captained the Team White.
“It was a great experience getting to play against, as well as with the top players in my class. We had to combine playing styles and work together, which was fun.”
Gray, despite the loss, had one of the highlight moments of the game when he slammed home a thunderous dunk from along the baseline shortly before halftime. He would total 11 points on 4-for-6 shooting to go with six boards.

Konrad Kantorski — the fourth of Myerscough’s delegation at the Classic — featured in the headlining Class of 2018 game, but was on the wrong end of a narrow 88-85 defeat to Team White.
The Myerscough guard finished with four points in 15 minutes of action.
