PRESTON — Konrad Kantorski scored 15 of his game-high 22 points in the first half and Myerscough extended its Elite Academy Basketball League win streak to six games.
Callan Low added 18 points for Myerscough (9-1), which shot 42 percent from distance and hit 13 3-pointers in a 77-61 win over Derby College.
“We knew the threat that Derby could pose to us — we’ve been on the wrong side of a result to them earlier and the season — but the guys came in with a point to prove, which they executed on,” said Myerscough coach Neal Hopkins.
Myerscough grabbed a quick 4-0 lead but then allowed the next nine points. Sco recovered, however, to close the final 3:49 of the opening quarter on a 15-4 run and led by as many as 15 in the first half.
Derby would put together an 11-0 run, which spanned either side halftime, to cut the Myerscough lead to 43-37, but never got closer.
Rayon Brown broke the game open with a 6-0 run of his own, highlighted by a 3-point play, to give Myerscough a 55-43 lead with less than four minutes left in the third.
Myerscough then held Derby to just nine points in the fourth quarter to close out a three-game home-stand.
Luke Ptak led Derby (5-5) with 14 points in the loss.
