CHERBOURG, France – Myerscough defeated Manchester 48-32 on Sunday to finish in third place at the 2019 Cherbourg International Tournament in France.

A 24-point loss to the Ireland National Team in the semifinals earlier on Sunday sent Myerscough into the consolation game where it dominated English counterpart Manchester, leading from start to finish.

Manchester was held to just three first-quarter points as Myerscough built a 14-3 advantage that it pushed out to 17 at halftime. The Magic wouldn’t get closer than 11.

Jamie Gray was named to the All-Tournament team alongside Sam Grant (Reading) and Irish trio Paul Kelly, Matthew Harper and Tiernan Howe. Kelly also picked up Player of the Tournament honours.

Myerscough notched wins over group foes Rennes (France) and Vilnius (Lithuania) to secure its place in the semifinals after starting the Easter weekend tournament with a narrow three-point loss to Reading (England).
