Myerscough heads to Portugal

In the first of a number of international trips the Myerscough’s U19 Men have taken to the skies for a 4 day training camp in Porto, Portugal.

Hosted by Sunlive Basketball, the camp will see Myerscough compete in a number of fixtures as well as a full training schedule before flying back to the United Kingdom.

“This is a great opportunity for the guys to gain some valuable international experience whilst enjoying some time away with their new teammates,” said Myerscough Head Coach Neal Hopkins. “We have a loaded schedule and we are very much looking forward to the trip.”

In addition students from Myerscough’s new Foundation Degree in basketball coaching have made the trip and will be taking part and leading on a number of sessions as part of their new bespoke course.

Current foundation degree students Edvard’s Sirmbardis is looking forward to what is ahead.

“It’s going to be a great experience to be involved in a coaching capacity, I’m looking forward to getting a greater understanding of international basketball and how coaches adjust to different scenarios,” he said.
