Preston, United Kingdom – Myerscough Basketball Academy is pleased to announce a two-day basketball camp, scheduled for Wednesday 31st May and Thursday 1st June during the May half-term at the High-Performance Centre, Preston campus, PR3 0RY.
This event is open to all players aged 10-16 years old and costs £25 per day or £40 for both days.
Participants will have the unique opportunity to learn from and train with two of Myerscough’s leading academy and current National Team coaches in Troy Culley (Great Britain U16 Men Head Coach) and Mike Bernard (England U18 Men Assistant Coach) who will be taking to the court to deliver expert sessions to those in attendance.
The camp’s sessions will offer a rich blend of activities, ranging from focused individual skill development drills, engaging mini games, to full-scale scrimmages, with a host of other exciting features to round off an action-packed two days.
Troy Culley – Myerscough College Basketball Academy | Great Britain U16 Men
Returning for a second year as the Great Britain U16 Men’s Head Coach, Coach Culley is primed to lead at the European Championships in Pitesti, Romania this summer. Since joining the academy in 2016, he has worked across the programme in several roles from leading the U18 Men to an unbeaten regular season and national championship in 2018 to assisting the EYBL team be the first British-team to win a season long competition in Europe in 2019. This past season, he has led the EABL team as well as doubled up with the Division 2 Men and once again featured as key part in Myerscough’s success overseas.
Mike Bernard – Myerscough College Basketball Academy | England U18 Men
Leveraging a rich professional career that kicked off in 2002 and spanned 12 European clubs, Coach Bernard brings a wealth of experience to his role. Now in his seventh season at Myerscough Academy, he has honed his skills across various head coach and assistant coach roles. Most recently, he spent the 2022-23 season as the U18 Men Premier Head Coach whilst assisting with the EABL, Division 2 Men and U18 Men Conference. Coach Bernard was rewarded for his commitment, knowledge and expertise by being appointed as an assistant coach to the England U18 Men that won the 2023 Four Nations Tournament against Scotland, Ireland and Wales.
