PRESTON — Edoardo Del Cadia scored a game-high 23 points on an efficient 9-of-12 shooting to go with nine rebounds, and Myerscough defeated the Worcester Wolves II 76-52 on Sunday.
Edvards Sirmbardis had 17 points, including a trio of 3-pointers, and Mate Okros added 15 for Myerscough (16-1, 11-1), which shot 43.9 percent from the field in the team’s 12th win in a row.
Konrad Kantorski cooled off following Saturday’s 26-point performance in the National Shield semifinal, but chipped in eight points and eight assists — Myerscough assisted on 16 of 29 made field goals.
Myerscough, which opened the game on a 7-0 run, was never able to pull away in the first half due to 13 turnovers. The Wolves pulled back a 10-point deficit with an 8-0 burst in the second quarter, but Kantorski answered with a 3-pointer to help Myerscough end the half up 29-26.
Worcester had a chance to tie the game at 29-all only to fail to complete a 3-point play. Myerscough then responded with an 8-0 run to take a 37-28 lead — the gap however was trimmed to five before the hosts scored nine unanswered points.
The Wolves threw one last punch before Myerscough broke open a 46-39 scoreline with a 21-0 run, highlighted by back-to-back-to-back triples from Sirmbardis, Kantorski and Del Cadia.
G Emms and O Adepoju scored 13 points apiece for the Wolves (4-9, 3-8) in the loss.
