PRESTON, Lancs. — Shauna Harrison scored 16 points and Erin Hikin added 13 to lead Myerscough to a 70-47 win over Nottingham Academy on Wednesday in the Women’s Elite Academy Basketball League.
Kyra Smith and Maria Delgado combined for 17 points in Myerscough’s second round game.
It was a really good team effort today,” said Myerscough head coach Julie Page. “Everyone contributed and it gave us an opportunity to throw different coverages at the opponent.”
Myerscough, which led 35-17 at halftime, never lost control and maintained its advantage throughout en route to a comfortable victory. Hikin scored eight first quarter points and gave the hosts the momentum through her defensive effort.
“Erin has built up her confidence through recent performances and it was great to see her continue to have success,” said Page.
Brahe Ashton scored a game-high 22 points for Nottingham, and Caitlyn Riley and Ines Guerreiro combined for 15 in the loss.
