LOUGHBOROUGH — Konrad Kantorski scored a season-high 32 points and Mate Okros added 29, and Myerscough clinched the EABL West Conference regular-season championship following a 92-76 win at Charnwood College on Monday.

Myerscough will host City of London Academy at the High Performance Centre in the first round of the playoffs beginning Thursday.

“It’s so important have home court advantage,” said Myerscough coach Neal Hopkins. “These guys have earnt that right and shown they deserve it.”

Edoardo Del Cadia had 17 points for Myerscough, which led from start to finish and handed the Riders their first home loss in two years — a defeat also at the hands of Sco.

Myerscough jumped out to a 16-6 lead behind Okros, who scored 12 of the 16 including a pair of 3-pointers, to force Charnwood into a timeout with 4:05 left in the opening quarter.

“In the warmup I started thinking about what I’m going to do during the game — I came out in the first quarter and hit a few shots and that gave me the confidence to carry on,” said Okros.

Charnwood cut the gap two late in the half, but Myerscough would close the final 1:30 on a 9-2 run to carry a 46-37 advantage into the break. The Riders got within six before a 14-5 burst, highlighted by Kantorski’s back-to-back 3-pointers, pushed them out of reach.

Sesan Russell and Hosana Kitenge each scored 16 points and Morgan Carter added 15 for Charnwood in the loss.
